Custom cold packs · Hydrate OEM format
Specify a dry-supplied, water-activated Hydrate Ice Pack around your payload, available space, preparation process and presentation requirements. Review cell layout, sheet size, film, hydrated mass, artwork and samples before production.
Product naming note: On this page, “dry ice pack” refers to a dry-supplied Hydrate Ice Pack sheet. It is activated with water and frozen before use; it is not solid carbon dioxide (CO₂) dry ice.
Start with the product brief
Customize the format around the way you pack
A useful custom specification connects the sheet to the packing operation. It does not begin with artwork alone.
Sheet size
Confirm length, width, folded or segmented form and the clearance available inside the insulated shipper, carton or liner.
Cell layout
Review a grid, elongated chambers or a flexible segmented layout according to the intended sidewall, top-layer or wraparound position.
Material and facing
Discuss the supported outer layers, facing construction, seal design and handling environment for the selected configuration.
Hydrated mass
Set the target hydrated mass and activation workflow so the packing site can hydrate, drain, freeze and load the sheet consistently.

Preparation matters
Dry inbound. Controlled activation. Documented loading.
Hydrate Ice Packs are supplied dry for water activation at the user site. Before loading, the selected sheet should be hydrated to its specified condition, drained, inspected and freezer-conditioned according to the approved work instruction.
- Match the model, cell count and dimensions to the drawing.
- Hydrate with the defined water and target mass.
- Drain surface water and inspect cells, seams and edges.
- Freeze or condition to the required starting state.
- Protect the sheet from sharp payload or carton edges.
- Load the stated quantity and orientation in the packout.
Specification framework
What to confirm before sampling
The fields below help separate a standard product reference from a custom product specification.
| Specification area | What the project may review | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Product format | Hydrate Ice Pack / water-activated cooling sheet; flexible or segmented format. | Selected model, cell count, working dimensions and drawing reference. |
| Material construction | Supported film or laminate options for the selected sheet and application. | Exact layer stack, facing, seal design and applicable material documentation. |
| Activation | Dry supply, water addition, drainage and freezer conditioning. | Target hydrated mass, preparation steps, inspection points and starting state. |
| Artwork and marking | Logo, color reference, handling text, orientation marking and language versions. | Printable area, proof, approved revision and destination-market labeling responsibility. |
| Packaging | Inner packaging, carton quantity, carton marking and shipment identification. | Final packing method, quantity per carton and order-specific packing record. |
| Evidence | Drawing, technical data, material information, sample or packout assessment. | Which documents apply to the selected configuration and intended use. |
Final values are recorded in the selected product drawing and order specification. Customization does not create a universal hold-time or temperature guarantee.
Artwork and private label
Make the printed pack easy to identify and use
Printing supports brand presentation, orientation and handling, but the artwork must be reviewed against the actual material, seal margin and pouch layout.
Prepare the artwork
Send the logo file, colors, required text, languages, orientation markings and any handling instructions.
Check the printable area
Confirm the artwork position, trim and seal margins on the selected sheet size and material construction.
Review the proof or sample
Check appearance, text, orientation and the physical fit before the approved revision is released.
Control repeat orders
Keep the approved artwork, drawing, packaging and specification linked to the product version.
From brief to quotation
A clear path from custom idea to approved sample
The fastest quotation is the one that gives the product and manufacturing team enough information to identify the right configuration.
Define the shipment
Share payload, temperature range, available space, route, duration and current packing method.
Select the format
Compare a standard reference, configurable sheet or custom cell and dimension direction.
Confirm the specification
Review drawing, materials, hydrated mass, artwork, packaging and document requirements.
Approve the sample
Check fit, preparation, appearance and packing steps before production release.

Questions buyers ask
Custom dry ice pack FAQ
These answers clarify the product boundary and the information needed for a useful OEM discussion.
Are these dry ice packs the same as CO₂ dry ice?
No. Here, “dry ice pack” refers to a dry-supplied, water-activated Hydrate Ice Pack sheet. It does not contain solid carbon dioxide. Hydrate, drain and freeze the selected pack before loading it into the specified insulated packout.
What can be customized on a Hydrate Ice Pack?
Depending on the selected configuration, the project may review sheet dimensions, cell layout, outer layers, film construction, hydrated mass, facing, printing, handling instructions and packaging. Final availability is confirmed by the product drawing and order specification.
Can a custom dry ice pack guarantee a transit duration?
No. Temperature performance depends on the complete packout, including payload, coolant quantity and placement, conditioning, insulated shipper, ambient profile, route and duration. A project-specific assessment is required when evidence is needed.
What should I send for a custom dry ice pack quotation?
Send the payload dimensions and mass, target temperature range, available packout space, sheet placement, route and duration, desired cell layout, artwork or handling text, estimated quantity, destination and sample requirements.
Have a dry pack format in mind?
Send the shipment details, desired sheet layout, artwork requirements and sample expectations. icebagchina can review a standard or custom configuration and identify the next specification step.
