KWE Korea Strengthens Pharma Cold Chain Logistics with GDP Certification

Kintetsu World Express announced that its Korean subsidiary, KWE Korea, has obtained Good Distribution Practice certification for pharmaceutical logistics. The certification applies to pharmaceutical warehousing services at Terminal 3 of the Pyeongtaek Logistics Center.
The announcement was released on May 7, 2026, and is positioned as part of KWE Korea’s effort to strengthen temperature-controlled pharmaceutical logistics capabilities. The certification confirms that the facility meets recognized standards for proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products.
How It Works
The GDP certification covers refrigerated and frozen areas within Terminal 3, which was completed in October 2024. The facility includes dedicated temperature-controlled areas of approximately 500 square meters each for refrigerated and frozen storage, with capacity for around 350 pallets in each area.
KWE said the facility is equipped with advanced temperature control and monitoring systems, as well as backup power supply. These features are designed to support stable handling of pharmaceuticals that require strict temperature management.
The warehouse has also obtained bonded warehouse status, enabling non-resident inventory operations. This allows customers to use more flexible import, export, and inventory models within temperature-controlled pharmaceutical logistics.
